Tracy is the Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Contemporary Theatre Practice, and also teaches on Performing Arts and Media and Performance. She studied at Lancaster University, where she did her BA in Theatre Studies, MA in Contemporary Theatre Practice and a PhD in film and theatre. She also taught at Lancaster, directed student productions and toured with her own theatre group before joining Salford in 2001.

Tracy teaches on a range of modules in the areas of contemporary performance, theatre history, film and television, and across both theory and practice. Her teaching and research interests include theatre directing, modern and postmodern performance, the Avant-Garde, multi-media performance, Live Art, contemporary experimental theatre and contemporary cinema.
