I graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester in Contemporary Performance. Whilst at De Montfort Niki worked with Blast Theory, Reckless Sleepers, Wendy Houstoun (DV8), Julian Maynard Smith (Station House Opera) and Desperate Optimists.
Since 1996 I have worked and performed with Plane Performance (Directed by Neil McKenzie) making work that has toured nationally and internationally; Tall Tales Bad Memories, Calling Rachmaninov, Greenroom and MMU commission. The Re-placing text trilogy - Three Degrees of Frost, SET and Round-About - rewritings of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, David Lean's film Brief Encounter, and Rogers and Hammerstein's film/musical, Carousel. The Trilogy finished with Epilogue.
I have worked and am an Associate Artist with the award winning group Blast Theory working and collaborating on projects such as; Kidnap (1998), 10 Backwards (1999), Desert Rain (2000), Uncle Roy All Around You (2003), Can You See Me Now (2001-07) and Day of the Figurines (2006).
I began teaching at the University of Salford in 2001 and teach across courses; BA Contemporary Theatre Practice, BA Performing Arts, BA Media Performance and HND Media Performance.
