Lloyd Peters has been a professional actor, writer and director for 30 years. He has worked with many leading writers and directors including: Mike Leigh, Alan Bleasedale (twice), Ken Russell, Michael Wearing and Philip Saville.
Lloyd has appeared in a large number of television drama and comedy productions playing a variety of major roles. These include leading parts in Last of the Summer Wine, The Bill, Coronation St. (twice), Emmerdale, Boy Who Won the Pools, Mike Leigh's Home Sweet Home and The History Man series with Anthony Sher.
Lloyd's writing work includes commissions for the BBC drama series Doctors, Radio 4 satire show Week Ending, The Russ Abbott Show, and a TV sit-com pilot entitled Kids 'n' Kafka (co-written with Gary Brown). His first play for Radio 4 entitled A Higher Education was Pick of the Day when it was transmitted on in June 2000 and received universally favourable reviews. It was nominated for the Richard Imison award - Best 1st radio Play - in 2001. His recent BBC play 4 Steps to Heaven was Pick of the Week on Radio 4. Goodbye Mr Gherkin was broadcast in November 2007 and his comedy drama Bell in the Ball was transmitted on Radio 4 in July 2010
