Before arriving at Salford, initially as a part time lecturer in characterisation, Lisa worked in theatre, TV, secondary schools and further education.
Her career as a lecturer in performance began when she started teaching part time at The Oldham College whilst in between acting work. During that time, she directed many theatre productions ranging from TIE tours to street theatre. Lisa soon became acting programme leader for the first diploma course, and worked as a director/writer in residence with Oldham youth service, where she produced issue-based work for specific festivals and tours. In 1998 she went to work with Tipp Theatre Company as an actor/workshop leader and spent several years working in prisons and within the probation service.
Lisa is currently involved with a local film Production Company and is working on various development projects (TV drama).
Appointed as 0.5 in 2005 Lisa specialised mainly in TV acting and characterisation. During her time at Salford, she has coordinated the first year workshops and has recently taken on the role of module coordinator for theatre acting at level two.
She is currently nearing the completion of an MA in script writing for TV and Radio and hopes to teach at MA level on the MA TV & Radio Scriptwriting programme in the near future.
Lisa is in the initial stages of writing a course for Level 3 students that hopefully will enable students to facilitate issue-based work within the community.
