The School of Media, Music and Performance plays an active role in the delivery of conferences and events throughout the calendar.

Founder of the Nations and Regions Media Conference, which focuses on policy, production and opportunity across the UK, the School of Media, Music and Performance also delivers a range of satellite events offering a plethora of forums to update knowledge, reinvigorate creativity, debate the challenges, network and celebrate talent.

The School of Media, Music and Performance is a key partner in a number of cutting edge festivals including the Exposures Film Festival, World Music Festival, Muslim World Music Day and the Manchester Experimental Performance Festival - Flare.

In addition, we also host our own cross-school Festival of Media, Music and Performance, which celebrates and showcases the very best of our student work. Plans are also underway to launch the inaugural annual Journalism Awards and Conference at MediaCityUK later this year.

The Music Directorate delivers an annual series of music-making events that include Freeflow, Jazz 620, brass, wind and Big Band concerts.

Our Performance Directorate regularly delivers specialist workshops and live productions, the latter of which are open to the public and will soon be taken to a new level with the unveiling of the new, multi-million Digital Performance Lab at MediaCityUK.
