Wind band composers finalists unveiled

The finalists for the Salford-BASBWE Composers contest have been announced:
Franner Otter, Karl Wheelan and Stephen Richardson have been invited to a workshop with the Central Band of the RAF. The three composers will also have their works premiered at a special concert on February 15 hosted at the University of Salford in partnership with BASBWE and Kirklees Music.
The winning entry will be announced at the conclusion of the concert by a panel comprising Dr Nigel Clarke, Professor Peter Graham and Dr Peter Meechan. A £500 cash prize and publishing contract with Kirklees Music will be awarded to the winning composer.
